After over 18 weeks as the number one smartphone sold in Japan, the Apple iPhone 4 has officially been ousted by the newly release Samsung Galaxy S.  Sure, the figures only reflect one week’s sales, but the announcement is newsworthy nonetheless.  According to Japanese market researcher BCN, Samsung’s flagship smartphone dethroned the 32GB iPhone 4, but if you add the 16GB iPhone 4 sales then Apple still retains the No. 1 position. During the past 18 weeks where the 32GB iPhone 4 remained the top seed in the Japanese smartphone market, the demand for Android devices have surged.  It is unclear if Apple will be able to hold off the onslaught of upcoming handsets coming to the region.  Let us know what you think in the comments section below, thanks.
