KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 — Celcom Axiata Bhd is targeting to sell 10,000 units of the new BlackBerry Torch 9800 by year-end. The company expects to strengthen its position as the country’s BlackBerry market leader by being the first to offer the BlackBerry Torch 9800...

UK music streaming service We7 is launching an application for Android, and offering a two-week trial of the full version to lure people in.

With the likes of Spotify stealing much of the attention, We7 is keen to push its new app, which will work on Android handsets and offers unlimited streaming.

The mobile service is only available to people on the Premium Plus subscription of a penny under £10 a month, but does allow favourite content to be cached so that no internet connection is needed.

People can trial the service for two weeks through the app, but will then need to pay out if they want to continue to use it.

Access love

"We love giving people access to their favourite music and enabling them to consume it, wherever and however they want it, said Steve Purdham, we7 CEO

"The new Android app version continues to extend our mobile strategy."

"We know that many consumers have been frustrated with mobile music apps in the past, generally, they download 'free apps' but cannot play songs without paying for a subscription.

"We wanted to resolve this, that's why we've included the free trial so users can sign up and immediately play music.

"Users just need to go to The Android Marketplace and download it, we're confident that they'll love it!"

The Android version has apparently been greatly changed form the iPhone app, and includes a new user interface, offline mode, haptic feedback support and personal online playlists.

The leaked guide also confirms that it is indeed a global phone and it has a slide-out keyboard and Android 2.2 Froyo onboard, but that’s about it.  [...]

Wi-Fi has become so key - gotta have that Internet connection, sans wires - that a majority of 18- to 29-year-olds say they spend more time using Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi devices every day than they do watching TV, according to a poll by ... The Wi-Fi Alliance, an industry trade group.

If, like me, you rely pretty heavily on youriPhonealarm to get you out of bed in the morning then you might have been in for a rude awakening this morning. Despite automatically updating the handset's clock to GMT from BST on Sunday morning, some users have found that their alarms have been going off as though the clocks never went back - so an alarm that was meant to go off at 7am went off at 8am instead.

Not alliPhoneusers have been affected; looks like just iOS 4 users are having troubles - reports on Twitter have suggested that those running iOS 3.x or anything over iOS 4.1 had no issues.UPDATE:Looks like we were wrong about iOS 4.1 users being unaffected - commenters Casper and Grant have both experienced the bug and are running iOS 4.1.

So, how do you fix this annoying little bug? One option is to delete all your alarms and set a daily, non-repetitive alarm, it worked for us. [we previously stated that simply deleting and resetting your alarm would work butEngadget has pointed outthat resetting repetitve alarms doesn't work]

The other option is to update youriPhonesoftware by plugging into iTunes.Australia and New Zealand suffered the same issuewhen their clocks changed in early October andApplepromised a software fix was imminent- we've been awaiting the release of iOS 4.1.1 ever since. Although upgrading to iOS 4.1 won't necessarily fix the bug, at least you'll be up to date.

The final option is to indulge in a spot of time-based maths and set alarms an hour earlier than you would otherwise. Just don't blame us if your iPhone starts getting you up at 5am...
